Annual General Meeting Report

At the Annual General Meeting of the Essex Senior Football League on Wednesday 13th. June, clubs bade farewell to the League Champions and treble winners Brentwood Town who will play in Division One North of the Ryman League next season. Provisionally elected in their place are Ilford, but it was made clear by the League Chairman Robert Errington that Ilford may well be saved from relegation due to the problems that several other clubs in steps one to four of the National League System have encountered since the end of last season.

He made it clear that he would continue to be very pro-active in trying to keep the number of clubs in the competition to at least sixteen and hoped that he would have the co-operation of The FA should it be the case that Ilford would not re-join the competition for the 2007/08 season

Less than 24 hours later the FA's Mr. Mike Appleby informed the league that in fact Enfield who have been ground sharing at Ware for several seasons would in fact be the second club relegated from Ryman League Division One North rather than Ilford.

The Essex Senior Football League welcome the addition of Enfield, who come as a "new" club - "Enfield 1893" to their ranks and look forward to working with their Officers, Management Committee, Team Management and Players over the forthcoming season.

The Officers of the League also continue in their efforts to bring other clubs to the League and the Clubs were in agreement that the Officers should be given every opportuity to increase the constitution of the league if the opportunity arises before the new season commences on Saturday August 11th.
