Weekly Round Up... Msiska is the main man!
Saturday 6th Feburary
Plenty of games and goals this weekend with new leaders at the top of the table.
Stansted lost top spot due to there game being washed out at Basildon, this left the chance open to Burnham to regain the summit with a 1-0 victory over Barking in front of the days biggest crowd of 86.
Bethnal Green maintain 3rd spot with a draw against Enfield.
Witham continue to impress gaining a 1-0 win against Clapton to continue an impressive run of form.
Anyone leaving Sawbridgeworth early were left feeling short changed as five goals in the final 20mins gave the hoasts a 3-2 win against Tiptree.
The personal performance of the day must go to Wilf Msiska who netted four times for Southend Manor in a comprehensive beating of bottom side Mauritus 6-1.
Thursday 4th Febuary WEEKEND PREVIEW
Stansted will be hoping that Gardiners Close is fit for football this week and the game gets the green light at Basildon on Saturday as they look to maintain top spot.
Second placed Burnham take on improving Barking.
In form Witham Town will be in East London at The Spotted Dog.
But the Game of the day tag this week goes to Bethnal Green who hoast Enfield who currently are in some indifferent form the game at Mile End stadium should be a good watch.
At the bottom Mauritius travel to Southend Manor.
Another week with a full list of games planned but its only Thursday so lets hope the weather keeps the pitches playable this weekend.
Saturday 30th January
We started with a full fixture list on Saturday morning but the icy conditions took its toll once again and were left with only three games that beat the weather.
Enfield came away from Eton Manor with a good 2-0 win in front of the biggest crowd of the day 45 hardy souls braving the cold. Bowers took the lead at London Apsa only to see the game end all square 1-1. Tiptree United were the days biggest winners beating Basildon united comfortably 4-1.
Thursday 28th January WEEKEND PREVIEW
A few intersting fixtures this weekend with a full programme of games planned. The game of the day tag could be given to many games. Ive gone this week for Barkingside vs Bethnal Green both sides have potential to push for the title.
Another game to catch the eye is at fast improving and inform Witham Town where they entertain Barking who themselves are off the back of an impressive 4-1 win last time out.
So wherever you choose to go enjoy your day at one of the nine games that are on offer.
Saturday 23rd January
The game of the day lived up to expectations as league leaders Burnham were beaten by the odd goal in 5 by fast improving Witham Town in front of 102 spectators the biggest crowd of the day.
Burnham still stay top but the lead is cut to one point as Stansted reduced Ramblers lead with a 3-1 home win against Eton Manor.
Bethnal Green moved into 3rd spot with a solid 3-0 victory over struggling Mauritus Sports.
Barkingside came away from Sawbridgeworth hitting four without reply.
Barking also smashed home four with Tiptree only replying the once at Mayesbrook Park a win which was important at the wrong end of the table.
Action at last and an impressive 21 goals in the five games played. Heres to more of the same in the week to come.
Thursday 21st January WEEKEND PREVIEW
A new feature where we select some games of interest for the coming weekend.
A full fixture list is scheduled for this weekend and weather permitting should throw up some interesting ties.
Game of the day is top of the table Burnham against improving Witham Town.
High flying Basildon United entertain a Hullbridge side who can be encouraged by the performance they put up in midweek narrowly losing against coca cola league 2 outfit Dagenham and Redbridge 1-0.
At the bottom points are just as important Barking take on Tiptree in a real six pointer and Bowers face Clapton in a 2nd vs 3rd from bottom clash.
Saturday 16th January
League action was once again written off with postponements due mainly to waterlogged pitches where the snow had melted.
One game that did go ahead after an early morning pitch inspection was the FAVase tie at the home of Maldon Town where tennents Tiptree United bowed out of the competition losing 7-0 against St Ives Town.
The Weather is truely winning but surely we will see some action in the coming week.
Sunday 10th January
Due to safety around all of our grounds the league has issued a statement which will see the cancellation of all midweek fixtures.
Its a slow start to the new year in the Essex Senior league as the winter weather affected all planned games during midweek.
Saturday 9th January
With artic conditions continuing this weekend all Saturdays games were lost on Thursday meaning the League will face a rare wipe out.
Finding a fixture at most levels across the entire country will proove a very hard job with games being called off at the highest levels with Championship sides and the Football League fixtures list being hit hard despite some pitches being deemed playable the surrounding areas and link roads being classed as unfit for travelling fans.
The weather forecast for the next few days is not good cold north easterly winds and the chance of more snow with temperatures struggling to rise above freezing are predicted.
This must leave clubs and fans alike frustrated and eager to get this cold snap over to avoid a backlog of fixtures as we enter the final 3rd of the season.
For regular updates please check football.mitoo for latest postponements or phone before you travel to avoid dissapointment.
