Weekly Round Up....

Sawbridgeworth Town retain their top spot with a 2-1 success over visitors Bowers & Pitsea, at Crofters End and it was the present league's leading scorer, Raich Fraser on target again with a goal after 57 mins but not before Ryan Collins had put Bowers ahead eight minutes earlier. Captain, Dan Hudson, wrapped up the points with his 64th minute goal.

During the week, newcomers Bethnal Green United played host to Takeley in their first Senior home game and 207 came through the turnstile for a Mile End Stadium ground record. Bethnal Green scored twice without reply from Ainsley Gasper on 25 minutes from the penalty spot and Shane Joseph added a second in the 71st minute. This weekend was still a decent Mile End attendance at 78 but visitors, Stansted have started well despite an F A Cup setback by Royston last Sunday and it was a 0-0 draw.

Tiptree United remain unbeaten but were 1-2 down at half -time to Eton Manor who scored through Joe Nightingill on 9 mins and, after Lee Underwood had equalised in the 15th minute, a Joe May penalty on 25 mins. The second half saw a further goal from Lee Underwood one minute in and Tommy English got his first of two after 74 mins, wrapping it up with a 90 min penalty after Danny Clarke had brought the Manor back into the game three minutes before in a rousing finish.

Witham Town shared out the goals very neatly in their 5-3 win over Clapton. The very impressive Troy Hewitt opened the scoring for "Ton" in the 14th minute but David Hawes equalised on 22 mins and Tommy Robinson made it 2-1 at half-time with his 31st minute goal. Daniel Lopez scored in the 48th minute for Clapton but so did Steve Joyce for Witham Town. Clapton pulled themselves back once again in the 70 mins with an assisted goal from Alex Reid so events drew on and then Witham Town got the upper hand with a goal from Kevin Hawes in 77 mins and Niki Love made it 5 for his club in the 88th minute.

Hullbridge Sports, defeated 0-1 by St Margaretsbury in their midweek F A Cup replay, scored their first goal of the season thanks to Chris Paterson in the 20th minute at Mayesbrook Park but it wasn't enough on the day and Barking came out winners with goals from Roy Sandiford 70 mins and Jared Small two minutes into added time.

Barkingside, losers to Bowers & Pitsea in the F A Cup last Sunday drew 1-1 with Basildon United, Jordan Tolan’s 35th minute effort cancelled out by the Bees Michael Lee in the 88th minute.

Burnham Ramblers met London Apsa at Leslie Field and won 2-0 with goals from John Bradley 15 mins and Lewis Wilkin 90 mins.

Enfield 1893 played host to Mauritius Sports Association in their first home game at Broxbourne Borough and won 4-1 with Adilson Lopez opening the scoring in 30 mins, and in a frenetic finish, first Steven Ahoua-Boua scored an 80th minute penalty, then Enfield went further ahead thanks to an Own goal five minutes later and Bradley Nelson made it 4-0 in the 90th minute before Pascal scored a consolation goal on the final whistle.

Takeley picked themselves up from their midweek defeat at new boys Bethnal Green United and beat Southend Manor 3-0 with Joe Galsworthy 28 mins and Xaniel Doku 81mins and 90 mins on the scoresheet. Sadly, the visitors has also been beaten by the same margin by Hatfield Town in their midweek F A Cup replay
